"I see sounds": Creating a device to help the visually impaired get around

Is it possible to see sounds? Perhaps not. But what is possible is seeing with the help of sounds. Which is exactly what we'll be working on in our workshop: a navigation device which processes sounds to make it safer for people with impaired vision to move through space.
