The audiovisual installation that he mounts in an emblematic building of the academic community, the former Chemistry building, which is now the Law School library, includes interviews with those in charge of the excavation – from archaeologists to dentists – and the reenactment of the execution and the burial by a chorus of young Athenians.

The artist himself and the anthropologist-archaeologist Eleana Yalouri coordinate the public discussion that follows the first showing.

Misleading legends haunt recent history – whether we talk about Lebanon or Singapore. Armed with witty humour, the five FFF lectures/performances have a lot to say about fabricated narratives: from archaeological excavations and spy stories in Sidon and Tell Halaf, the genealogy of swamps and the geopolitical construct “Southeast Asia”, to the image of the sweaty colonial in Hollywood movies. At the end, there will be an open discussion with the artists.

FFF5 | Leonardo Moreira & Cia. HiatoThe Odyssey

Drawing inspiration from the Homeric epics, the outstanding Brazilian collective returns to the OCC. Like contemporary rhapsodists of old, seven actors recount personal and collective odysseys, oscillating between realism and fantasy. The living/live experience of this marginal narrative challenges the fact-fiction dichotomy and the audience-actor polarity. Because, after all is said and done, we may all be equally mythical and monstrous.
