Themeless improvisation, inventive and baggage-free; an eclectic music as propulsive as a movie, but more interactive!

Glue came into being in Germany through the collobaration of drummer Giorgos Dimitriaids with the British trumpeter Tom Arthurs  and the Canadian bassist Miles Perkin. With its deft chromatic changes, wide-ranging references and hidden drive, the trio is representative of the contemporary Berlin scene. With an emphasis on their sound rather than on extricable melodies or harmonies, the combo's less-is-more philosophy underpins the “quietly intense” landscapes they paint. Their phraseology is tranquil, fragmented, arrhythmic and yet as completely of a piece as a pointilliste painting composed of seemingly unrelated dabs of paint. Their goal: themeless improvisation, inventive and baggage-free; an eclectic music as propulsive as a movie, but more interactive, with the audience playing its part in the action, too.

Alongside there will be the Symposium: "Sounding possibilities: Improvisation and community action” and two more exceptional  performances by Wadada Leo Smith "Τen Freedom Summers" and Medea Electronique "Koumaria Residency 2014"
