After performance talk with Persa Stamatopoulou
Why do people fall silent? Persa Stamatopoulou puts the experience of silence on stage.
Persa Stamatopoulou, a choreographer who has been breaking new ground in contemporary Greek dance for two decades now, presents her latest work, Silence, along with the company she heads. The choreographer perceives silence as release and asks herself this: why do people fall silent? Have they suffered some sort of shock? Do they withdraw for the sake of self-preservation, or is a revolution brewing in the body and the gaze?
Persa Stamatopoulou seeks to translate these questions into movement and to explore the experience of silence on stage.
