Masterclass by Stefanie Carp / ONASSIS CULTURAL CENTRE

Masterclass by Stefanie Carp

9-10 OCT 2015
The distinguished German dramaturg gives a masterclass in the context of blitz's performance "6 a.m. How to disappear completely"
In this masterclass Stefanie Carp will talk about her work in special projects, in which she participated as a dramaturg. As she worked a long time with the artist Christoph Marthaler she will introduce some of their projects of collaboration. She will also refer to her dramaturgical work with the director Nicolas Stemann and a present work, which she is developing right now. There will be questions about developing a subject, delevoping and writing text for a project, without writing a play. What is the difference between the interpretation of a play and a project? What means dramaturgie in the different disciplines, as literature based theatre, performance, music based theatre and dance? How important is the text in theatre? What are the future directions of theatre?

Stefanie Carp was born in Hamburg, Germany. She studied in Berlin and has worked for more than 20 years as the dramaturg for the artistic teams of several theatres. For the last four years she has been responsible for the performing arts programme of the Wiener Festwochen, a music, art and theatre festival in Vienna.
