The Cavafy Archive, Onassis Foundation at the 29th Moscow International Book Fair | 7-11 September 2016

7 Sep 2016
Cavafy travels to Russia for 5 days and participates at the Moscow International Book Fair.
The Cavafy Archive, Onassis Foundation participates at the 29th Moscow International Book Fair showcasing a series of selected activities curated by the Archive, as well as organizing a number of events related to the great Greek poet.

By focusing on the printed word and its legacy, this year’s Fair is paying tribute to the Greek culture. As part of the Greece-Russia Year 2016 a number of important Greek cultural organizations have been invited to the Fair, with the Cavafy Archive being one of them.

With its mission to promote C.P. Cavafy’s work and the international character of his poetry and personality and to advocate for the modern Greek cultural identity, the Cavafy Archive, Onassis Foundation is framing the 29th MIBF with a series of open debates and discussions.

Beyond the universality of C.P. Cavafy’s poetry, the Archive’s scheduled events draw the focus of the discussion on issues of archival and cultural management.

The MIBF takes place in the largest exhibition center in the Russian capital, the VDNH. The Greek Cultural Foundation have undertaken the organization of the Greek participation.

Cavafy’s work and the international character of his poetry and personality.  Working towards this end and in the context of a contemporary approach to the poet’s work, numerous projects and events take place in Greece and abroad, for the wider public and particularly the younger generations, creatively utilizing the potential of new technologies.
