Creativity, self-confidence, cooperation and communication for school children through the art of dance. Dancing to connect isn't just a dance festival for teenagers; it's an institution conceived of and set up by New York's Battery Dance Company which brings young people together to learn what contemporary dance is, how to realize their potential, set their imaginations free and, above all else, how to collaborate and work as a team.

With partners in 54 countries around the world, the OCC is taking contemporary dance to teenagers in their schools for the sixth consecutive year. After Patras, Ioannina, Trikala and Komotini, it's now Chania's turn to join the dance, along with five schools in Athens. The classroom, the school gym, the playground and even the corridors are transformed into a space for artistic creativity and rehearsals. The programme complete, the teenagers will perform their choreographies in their home towns first and then in a show featuring all the participating schools on the Main Stage of the OCC; they're sure to raise the roof!
