HEBOCON Athens is a robot-sumo construction tournament for the technically ungifted (aged 12–96). The participants duel low-tech robots they have made themselves, in their own time, in one-minute bouts. The robots must be constructed in accordance with rules laid down by the organizers, and high-tech is penalized. The battles take place with a live commentary from two presenters and are open to the public. Four prizes will be awarded: 1st Prize, the Audience Prize, a prize awarded by a Committee of the Wise, and a prize for the clumsiest entry. All participants will receive a keep-sake to remember their participation by. In this contest, technical competence is a disadvantage and winning can be downright embarrassing!

The organizers will send links to videos at regular intervals, allowing the participants to get into the spirit of the competition. Email addresses will be used for communication only.
