Oxbelly is an annual forum of filmmakers from Greece and abroad. Through workshops, talks and other activities, Oxbelly aims to benefit young filmmakers by connecting them to other filmmakers from the international community. It is an incentive that the producer of Faliro House, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, started in 2015 at Costa Navarino in Messene.
The Oxbelly Screenwriters & Oxbelly Directors Lab is under the artistic direction of the director Athena Rachel Tsagaris (Chevalier, Attenberg). The Lab will give 8 to 10 filmmakers the opportunity to develop the scenarios of their first or second full-length film through 6 days of intensive workshops, in the mythical place of Messene.
For the first time, this year the participants will have the ability to direct a movie scene of their choice. In this 6-day workshop, the side of the participants will be some of the greatest international filmmakers as their mentors. Through their time there, the participants and mentors will have one-on-one meetings, as well as masterclasses, which offer precious assets to finish their work.
The Screenplay Advisors for the year 2018, were Eva Stefani (Bathers
), Michael Almereyda (Hamlet
