Contemporary heroes in video portraits by a multi-faceted avant-garde artist.
Robert Wilson is a choreographer, director, artist, sculptor, performer and video artist. His VOOM series consists of 43 videos which he conceived, designed and directed between 2004 and 2009. The video-portraits interweave photography, film, literature and sound to comment on the history of portraiture as a genre. Although his heroes appear static, they evolve gradually, indeed almost imperceptible, in a way which arrests the viewer’s attention. The videos star famous actors, artists and authors including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Juliette Binoche, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, Marianne Faithfull, Salma Hayek, Isabelle Hubbert, Jeanne Moreau, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Isabella Rossellini...

* On the occasion of the exhibition Video Portraits, the director and artist Robert Wilson invites us into his astonishing aesthetic universe, in an exceptional performance of nearly three hours entitled "Have you been here before. No this is the first time." on 6 June 2013, at the Main Stage of the OCC.
Free admission to the exhibition Video Portraits on the 6th of June, for those watcing the performance.
