Following 35 years of activity in the cultural sector, the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation is organizing an international conference under the title The Athens Dialogues
, which will be held from 24 to 27 November 2010 at the Onassis Cultural Centre-Athens. The Athens Dialogues
is being organized with the co-operation of the Accademia dei Lincei, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the German Archaeological Institute, the Institut de France, Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies, Oxford University, Stanford University and the Academy of Athens.
On the basis of a diachronic and interdisciplinary approach, the conference will bring together in Athens leading scholars, researchers, artists and intellectuals from all over the world to discuss the question ‘Has the past a future?’ and to investigate to what degree the legacy of Greece and Hellenic thought, as it has developed through the centuries, can offer solutions to problems that confront us today.
