Over a career spanning four decades, the French clarinetist Louis Sclavis has proved himself to be one of the leading improvisers—and experimenters--of our times.
The Atlas Trio (clarinet, keyboards, guitar) is his current “mini musical laboratory” with which he explores rhythms and inner resonances that provide the scope for dense soundscapes.
His Sources album brings together every musical influence that can convey the idea of a journey and represents personal and group expressive freedom in the creative music of today. As a critic aptly points out, these are different viewpoints on a world between Messiaen and Miles Davis.
