An artist who can surprise you even when you’re expecting to be surprised!
Anthony Braxton isn’t just one of the most important figures of our times; he’s an artist of a magnitude comparable, many say, to Harry Patch and Charles Ives. A composer, conductor, academic, musicologist, author, leading improviser and idiosyncratic founder of a unique philosophy, Braxton remains on the cutting edge of contemporary music.

Equidistant from the African and European traditions, he pioneered new techniques and perceptions in the wake of the avant-garde of Cage, Stockhausen and Xenakis and the jazz of Marsh, Coltrane and Dolphy.
