Although the Greek state talks about culture as something that earns it status and comparative advantages, in practice, classes in the arts are the first to go when the going gets tough. The result: generations of school children who leave school functionally illiterate in matters relating to the arts and culture. The experts will explain why, in an evening dedicated to the arts as they are taught and as they ought to be taught in Greek schools.
