Brahms in Love

Love is a notion that marks several of Johannes Brahms’s works. Personal circumstances were instrumental in this, and, in fact, they had a significant impact on his compositional choices. The concert of the Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra and Choir entitled ‘Brahms in Love’ brings to the fore the multilayered expression of eros by the German composer. His exuberant style and tender lyricism coexist with the sometimes dramatic sometimes light nature of his personal confessions.
